Miton's callHandler Application Driven Server is a computer Telephony Server (CTI Server) which can be driven by external applications. It ia direct replacement for a traditional PBX where the telephone services are required to be driven by an external computer-based Application Server. This means that Application Providers can treat the CallHandler CT Server as a component that can be controlled by their application. This is similar, but far superior, to how an application might work with a PBX. Miton's callHandler can be a direct replacement for a PBX by offering benefits such as:
     • Better control by external applications through Information-rich control interface
     • Remote, central control and setup
     • can issue sophisticated control command sets using inter-computer communication protocols
     • can have standard Named XML variables for example
     • configure & control Multiple callHandler Machines
     • cross Platform control and command
     • Multiple Transmission Mechanisms. E.g. TcP/IP File Drop, http:etc.

Application Driven CTI Server Architecture

The diagram above shows how multiple callHandler CT Servers are configured and controlled by external applications, such as IVR, Third party contact centre Applications. Multiple, simultaneous applications can be connected to multiple callHandler Servers to create a diverse application with ease of expandability.
Remote Application Services:
The Remote Applications run on stand-alone machines. They communicate with the callHandler CT Servers via an IP network, such as a LAN/WAN or Internet..
